Transliteration

Transliteration is the method that converts Arabic writing into its Latin counterpart, making it easier to gain an understanding of the spoken language without having to grapple with the complex Arabic writing system.

There are great number of letters in the Arabic alphabet without a corresponding letter in the Latin alphabet, so a system has been devised which involves special characters added to ordinary letters or letter combinations. Although these new measures may be confusing at first, you will quickly recognize that it is a marvelous way to recapture the richness of written Arabic and give one an easier time with pronunciation as well.
